I was so very excited to get back to having my friends over for Stamping Club on Friday. We had a great summer off but it was really good to see everyone again!! That is one of the things that is wonderful about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator....the friendships that develop and the laughter shared, it's the best.

I wanted to share with you a couple of the cards that we made. All of the cards had a fall theme and used some of the new products in the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.

This first card inspiration came from Connie Babbert, a fellow SU Demonstrator. It uses one of the new In-colors Pool Party cardstock for an accent that works really well with the More Mustard cardstock base. The sentiment comes from the Hand Penned Holidays stamp set (item #124312). I added a piece of 3/8 inch Ruffled Ribbon in Pool Party (item #122975) These ribbons are just beautiful and come in 5 different colors. I also used pieces of the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (item # 124003) that coordinates with all of the colors in the card...The Flower was made in More Mustard using the Blossom Party Originals Die from the Big shot collection...Kind of looks like a Sun Flower doesn't it..

The second card inspiration came from Tammy Fite, another talented SU demonstrator. On this card I demonstrated a masking technique - where we sponged Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze and Old Olive on a piece of Naturals white cardstock. This was layered on a piece of Early Espresso cardstock used as the base. The leaf is from the new Gently Falling stampset (item # 123804) I really think I'm gonna like this stampset. It is a two step stamp which gives a lot of dimension to your image. Love it!! I also used the Tiny Tags (item # 118592) for the sentiment and punched it out with the Jewelry Tag punch (item #117190) Cute Huh!!

Morning All
Hope you're all settling into your Fall routines and planning for the upcoming Holiday's. Can you believe it's only 108 days until Christmas...whew!!

Well while you're planning your projects and cards do you ever think if I could just see a demonstration on this or that I could figure out how to do it....me too I'm a visual person...show me and I can do it...well most times LOL. Anyway, Stampin' Up! has a great library of videos that run the gambit from how to use a certain punch to demonstrations of products that we carry. The best part is they are NOT just for demonstrators but customers just like you can also go there and see...How do they do that.

Up Coming Wreath Class

Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day Weekend and that the storms coming through miss you and yours....I will be playing with the Grandkids tomorrow so I'm hoping for some decent weather to play outside.

I love the fall weather...crisp and clean and look forward to the beautiful colors of the mums and leaves as they change. In keeping with that I will be hosting a Fall Wreath class on Friday September 23rd at 7:00 pm. The cost is $20.00 and will include everything you need to make the wreath. I have a limited amount of space available for this class so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible to ensure your spot.

Here is a close up of the flowers that decorate the wreath. I thought they kind of looked mums and love the colors. Not only will you leave the class with this beautiful fall decoration but you will learn how to make these great flowers for your projects at home.

If you're like me you're wondering why exactly did summer go to....it's time for the kids to go back to school, fall camping (wonderful) and of course it's time for the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. (9/1/2011 – 1/3/2012) This mini has all of the wonderful holiday images that you have come to expect from SU to help you get ready for the upcoming holidays...Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas.

For those of you that are score challenged there is a new tool called "simply Scored." Scoring has never been easier or more fun with our exclusively-designed scoring too. It helps make scored designs or scoring 3D projects so fast and easy!! The neat thing about this tool is that there are markers you place along the top of the ruler so you can just blast through scoring a lot of card stock. This tool is perfect for helping to make your holiday cards or invitations.

Of course there are lots of new stamp sets and plenty of great looking designer papers for you to choose from and some great new accessories like Stitched Felt accents and Mini Jingle Bells. It's not too early to start thinking of your Christmas cards - it kind of sneaks up on us LOL. Using the Pennant Parade (item #122740) and the Petite Pennants Builder punch (item #122361) you can make some great cards.

Need a great Happy Birthday card? Well this one put together by my fellow demonstrator Caroline fits the bill....I just love the happy colors. There are 13 different stamps in this set that can be combined for lots of different looks.

This card shared by Miss Chris gives the stamp set and punch a more grownup look...softer too I think. She also used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (item #117335) to add some dimension...I love this stamp set it can be used lots of different ways to give you different looks...that's one way to get the biggest bang for your buck...

Summer Mini Catalog Samples

These cards were put together using the Touch of Kindness Stamp set (item #123201, set of 9 stamps) from the Summer Mini Catalog. I thought these images were just too cute and I love the little cat with the butterfly. There are some great little words in this one too so you don't have to go searching through your stash to find exactly the right ones.

I used Night of Navy card stock for the base of this card and our 5/8" Organza Ribbon with 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight over top of it..I water colored the images to finish it off.

This card uses Pacific Point Card stock as it's base....we put this together during one of our demo play dates and Miss Chris had it all prepped and ready to go for us (what a great lady). We used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (item # 121809)to frame the main image. This is really one of my favorites that Stampin' Up! has come out with....love it. It's like the little black dress of embossing folders you can dress it up or leave it kind of casual depending on what accessories you put with it :o)

Seed Packet Poppies

A friend of mine asked if I could make up something to send out seed packets to some of her friends and I remember seeing a pattern by Carla Brasher that I thought would work. My friend wanted some poppies for the front and I knew the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set (item #123027) would be great from the new Summer Mini Catalog. I used the floating re-inker technique that Gretchen Barron had shown on her web site....casing from two terrific Stampin' Up! Demonstrators now that's what I'm talking about LOL

Any way this uses the small open-end envelopes (item # 107286) and our Shimmery White Card stock (item # 101910). The floating re-inker technique works best with this paper. The image was stamped with black craft ink and heat embossed with black Embossing powder, I used drops of Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade ink to give the poppies their color. I sure hope she likes them....

Easter Treat

My friend and upline Chris Kolly created this cute little Easter treat for me using our Stampin' Up! punches. I love the little chicken and the wheelbarrow and flowers are just too stinkin cute and wanted to share it with all of you!!

Hmmmm now to figure out how to get to the peeps inside without destroying the packaging LOL

Little Totes

I really like the fabric that Stampin' Up! has brought out in their last couple of mini catalogs, and have made several note book type folders for gifts in the past.

BUT when I saw a Tote by karrie@stampers-den.ca I thought they we too stinking cute, and knew I had to try my hand at making some. The tutorial Karrie provided was easy to follow and had great pictures as well. I ended up making all 4 of these over a weekend!!

The totes are the perfect size to use for little scrap bags at a scrap book get together or to hold little tools on your stamping tables. They would also make a cute little gift holding bath salts or lotions in the bath room... They would also be great in a babies room holding all of the little things that babies need....very cute!!

The size is about 4 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 deep and you could decorate them. I used all Stampin' Up products including ribbons, vanilla Rosettes (item #118774), designer buttons and Fabric Designer Brads (item #121880) to add a little pop to each tote. You can use your imagination to make yours.....hmmm Christmas fabric might be just the thing filled with hand made cookies or chocolates What do you think?
wouldn't this be too cute in your sewing room holding all of the bobbins, thread and pins in once place.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them.

Easter Blossoms

As demonstrators we are always trying to stay ahead of the ne xt holiday for creating cards and projects so that you will be able to have the opportunity to create them for your family and friends....

So my friend Chris is already on to creating some beautiful cards for Easter. This new set Easter Blossoms from the Occasions Mini Catalog is a perfect combination of 6 different images and sentiments to be able to create some great cards. Chris also used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (item# 121809) and 1/2 seam binding ribbon in crumb cake (item#122322) to finish off the cards. Thanks for Sharing Chris.

Sharing Your Sorrow Cards

These are not my favorite cards to send but a necessity none the less to have on hand to send to friends and family that have experienced a loss. These cards were cased (copy and share Everything) from Sandi MacIver a wonderfully talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from the Portland Oregon area....

We used the following Stampin' Up! items to create these beautiful cards:
Spring Time Vintage Designer Series Paper (item#121782); Build a Blossom Stamp Set (item#121923 wood, 121994 clear mount); Blossom Petals Punch (item#121808; Bliss Stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration sets; 1/2 seam binding in Baja Breeze (item#122331; Basic Pearls (item#119247) and Glitter Glass in Champagne (item#120997)

I love how the pearls add an elegant touch to these cards and while these are the same design using two different pieces of Designer Series Paper gives a different look to each card.

St. Patty's Day Card

My friend and wonderful upline Chris and I often create c ards for each other when we are playing in our craft rooms and this one she made is for St. Patty's Day.

She used Garden Green cardstock as her base and Whisper White cardstock for the trim. The shamrock comes from the "Got Treats" stamp set (item #119114 wood, 120627 clear) She used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch to accent her trim piece (item #119275) and then ran it through her crimper tool to give it a really cool look. The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes (item #115370)...Perfect to send to that Irish Lad or Lassie...

Paper Daisies

I love making paper flowers...roses, pansies and thanks to a tutorial created by Noel Johnson I've learned to make paper daisies....I used the Big Shot Daisies #2 Die to punch out several of the largest and smallest daisies and a new technique of putting Crystal Effects on our build a brads then adding black and gold Stampin' Up! embossing powder...heat it up with our heat tool and voila the coolest center for the flower. It bubbles up and gives gre at texture your flower. Amazing!!

Daisies come in all colors in the garden so pull out your favorite colors and make a bunch for yourself.

Hello and Happy snow Day...here in Michigan we received about 5 inches of new snow...I was hoping for an early spring but Noooooooo Mother Nature had other ideas. Well at least we didn't get the ice that they wer e talking about...whew!! This is looking out our front door - pretty huh!

Last Minute Valentine Treat

Hey there is still time to make a sweet treat for your valentines honey!!! I found these Dove Chocolates at Walgreens Drug Store and they hold 4 little chocolate bites....perfect to say You're Special.

I started with a piece of black cardstock as my base 61/4 x 2 5/8 long and scored it 2 7/8" from each end. I cut a piece of Glimmer paper (item # 121790) from the Occasions Mini Catalog at 2 3/8 x 2 5/8 as the background.....I'm not sure if Stampin' Up! is going to keep this paper around but I just love it....Can't you just see it on some Christmas cards?????

But back to my Valentines treat LOL I also used the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslits die (item # 117332) for the Big Shot to create my focal point. Topped that off with a sentiment from Tiny Tags (item #118091) that I punched out with the Jewelry Tag punch (item # 117190) and of course added a little bling to top it off....I mean what's a Valentine without a little sparkle right.

Getting Ready for Valentines Day

This is a card I put together based upon a technique that Lynn Pratt has on her blog. I thought it was a cool way to give some texture to my card. I used Basic Black and Real Red cardstock and a piece of the new "Love Impressions" designer series paper (item #121780) This technique uses 1/4 grosgrain ribbon laced together to form the main focal point. I did add a little bling with our Basic Rhinestones (item # 119246). I love the idea of using our Glimmer Brads (item # 121006 Brights) to hold the ribbon bow on the bottom of the card. I think this is a perfect card to send to show your Valentine Sweetie you care, but it would also make a great anniversary card or even a wedding card...

Where Have I Been

Sorry I haven't been posting very regularly but I've been so busy playing with my new Grand daughter Ripley and 4 year old Grandson Jude. Being a grandmother has lots of responsibilities LOL...mostly giving out lots of kisses and hugs. Its a tough job but I sure do take it seriously LOL

This is a card that I made using the Valentine rub-ons from Stampin' Up! The rub-ons make putting the cards together quick and easy. I also used the new embossing folder Framed Tulips (item # 121809)

Occasions Spinner Sample

This card was made using the new spinner stamp set called "Take a Spin" (clear mount item # 122015) and the "Game Spinner Hands (item # 121893). Chris Kolly made this card, during a play date we had at her house, using the paper from the level 1 hostess pick designer papers in Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and Concord Crush. I love the mix of these colors. She finished off the card using the Concord Crush 1/2 inch stitched poly Ribbon. (item # 119266) This ribbon comes in 5 different colors and makes the perfect finishing touch to your cards and projects.

Occasions Mini Share

I wanted to share with you a little sewing kit my Upline Chris Kolly made for me while she was playing with her new products from the SU Occasions Mini Catalog (January 4th - April 30) I just thought it was too cute and would make a wonderful little gift fo r a family member or friend :o)

She used a little plastic stamp set case as her base and the new Sweet Stitches designer paper (item # 121781) and some Cherry Cobbler 1/2 inch seam binding ribbon (item # 120992). They have several new colors in this seam binding which is soft and flowing so it drapes like silk. I just love using it on cards and projects. I forgot to take pictures of the inside but she also put a little designer paper in the bottom of the case and found a little sewing kit with small spools of thread, needles and pins. Just perfect for those little repairs that we all need to do. Thanks Chris for thinking of me!!!

Welcome 2011

I hope you all had a great start to 2011 and that it is a bles sed year for you and your families!!

For those of you that didn't know, our daughter Amanda, her husband Josh and of course, Big Brother Jude welcomed the birth of Ripley Elise on December 30th. She weighed in at 7 pounds 1 oz (just a little peanut). She was a couple of weeks early but her dad was excited for the tax deduction LOL....We are all thrilled she's here and healthy a nd looking forward to spoiling her as good grandpa rents are allowed to do LOL (Just kidding Aman da )

From a stamping perspective I haven't been able to get lots done but have been trying to get some samples from the new Occasions Mini Catalog (January 4 - April 30) and the Sale A Bration catalog (January 25 - March 31) completed for your viewing pleasure. This is a great time to host a workshop to get FREE products from the new mini. We can do a few close friends to a larger group in the craft room so if you would like to schedule something just give me a call at 248-391-5978 to set it up.

This is a card I made on a play date with my up line and friend Chris Kolly. It uses the new sprintime Vintage Designer series paper (item 121782), the Textured Impressions Embossing folder (item 121809) and these cute little vintage flowers called Adornments (121879). The come in 3 different colors and include 24 pieces in each set....very cool. Both the sentiment and the flower come from the stamp set Blessed Mother (Item 121913 wood, 122063 clear). The card base is Always Artichoke card stock and I used Rose Red as the accent color.

Here's wishing you and your family a Happy and Blessed 2011.

Happy Howard (my husband) and I are waiting on the imminent birth of our second grandchild with great excitement. Grand children are our reward for being parents LOL....at least that is what I'm telling my daughter. We know that it's a little girl but the parents are keeping mum on any names they have picked out so we have taken to referring to her as "Jasmine" My grandson Jude has decided she should be called Taco belle which is pretty funny....

I also am looking forward to sharing with you some new techniques and lots of new products and promotions from Stampin' Up! If you have several friends that you would like to get together on a monthly basis to stamp and spend a fun night out please let me know as I will be planning my calendar shortly and would love to add your group to it....I will continue to have my stampin' club on the second Friday of the month, which everyone is welcome to come to. I would also like to put together several specialty classes in the months to come so look out for those as well.

More Occasions Card Sharing

Can you believe we are getting ready for 2011 and of course that means Valentines Day is not far behind...The card I want to share with you today is one made from the Love Impressions Designer Series paper and the Red Glimmer paper both from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.

We also used the tree from the Season of Friendship stamp set from the current catalog. This card opens so that you could put either a sentiment or a gift card...cool huh!! This would make a great card for your valentines sweetie or an anniversary card or maybe even a wedding card for a special couple.

My friend and Upline Chris Kolly got together earlier this week to play with some of our new Occasions Mini products. There are so many cool things we didn't know where to start first but we managed to get several samples ready for our January clas ses and clubs to see. I wanted to share some of them with you.

This card uses the Framed Tulips embossing folder (isn't it too cool) the new Spring time Vintage Designer series paper which is just gorgeous. I love, love this paper, very vintage and soft. I used one of the sentiments from the "Bring on the Cake" stamp set and finished it off with the Victoria Crochet Trim and Antique Brads from the current Catalog and Idea book.

Here are a couple of additional cards that I receive d for holiday wishes from friends that I stamp wit h.

This card from Erin Buss uses the poinsettia stamp from the Bells & Boughs set. This set is currently in the Holiday mini, which you can still order from until January 3. Erin embossed the image in gold to make it stand out then added some additional color. I just love the results.

This card from Kim Daly used the Big Shot Top Note Die as the back ground for her ornament. I love the simple elegance of the single bulb hanging from the branch...How about you?

I hope your Christmas was a wonderful day, full of good food a nd time with family. We had a great time with our family and sure did enjoy watching our 4 1/2 year old grandson Jude opening presents. Little ones sure make it fun!!

I wanted to share with you some of the other cards that I re ceived wishing us happy holidays.

This card is from my neighbor Anna Morell. She used the tree fro m our Season of Joy stamp set. I'm not sure where the backgr ound embossing comes from but I really like it. She added a littl e glitter for sparkle...Very Nice

The next card I received was from one of my ladies in my Friday night club, Lorraine Craft (but we all call her Stormy)...for her card she used the Santa head from Jolly Old Saint Nick. This stamp set is currently in the Holiday mini. I like how she used a variety of papers to give some texture to her card...and I love the extra glitter on Santa's beard.

Tomorrow I'll share a couple more cards with you. January begins a new Occasions mini catalog and I will be sharing some samples made with the new products next week....stay tuned!!

Final Count Down

Are you getting ready for the final count down to Christmas? Cards sent, check....menu and groceries purchased, check.....house cleaned, well almost and presents wrapped, check, check and double checked.

This is a picture of several of the baskets that I put together for my family for our holiday get together.....I actually put together a total of 10 different baskets, some for adult family members and several for the kids. These all have items that I made from Stampin' Up! products such as lip balm holders, fancy soap holders, sachets, box of cards (of course LOL), candy holders (what is a holiday without chocolate!!) and for the little ones, pencil holders, jiffy pop snowmen and snowman soup tins...I'm hope they enjoy receiving them as much as I enjoyed putting them together.....Thanks for looking

Great Stocking Stuffer

Looking for a great, quick stocking stuffer for the readers in your life. Well this is right up your alley...These ribbon bookmarks are quick enough to make that you can make one for every reader in your family LOL.

I used one of the snow flakes from Snow Swirled (item # 111690) and the cup of coffee from Morning Cup Stamp set (item# 120489) to create the top piece and ribbon I had on hand to make the bookmark piece. The stop at the bottom is one of the Filigree Designer brads (item # 112577). Easy Peasy!! This book mark and a gift certificate to Borders or Barnes & Noble would make a great gift!

Little Clutch Purse Favors

I got the information for these little clutch purses from Pennie McCallum and wanted to make them for our Handmade sale we had in Rochester.

They were very easy to make and the folks really liked them...I put two Truffles in each little purse but they would also hold a mini candy bar and would make great little place cards at dinner.

Snow Man Soup Tins

I love making hand made gifts for friends and family and these are perfect for the kids in our family.....In side you will find hot chocolate mix, mini marshmallows and of course the candy cane stir sticks. I stamped the little tags using one of the stamps from Tags til Christmas (item # 121169) and punched that out. I used the 2 3/8 inch Scallop Circle punch (item # 118874) to punch out circles from bashful blue cardstock. On the back is the little poem

"When the weather outside is frightful, Snowman Soup can be delightful. May it warm your spirit and your soul. Let it snow; Let it snow; Let it snow! When you feel a chill or Burrr...Use the peppermint stick to stir. Add hot water and sip it slow. Let it snow; let it snow; let it snow!"

Christmas Tree Luminary

I found this card created by Kirsteen Gill and thought it was just too darn cool. I made several of these for the Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. I Used the Scallop Circle from the Big Shot (#113468), Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake card Stock, Always Artichoke Seam Binding (#121000) basic Jewels - Rhinestones (#119246) and Always Artichoke classic ink (#105219).

The card opens up to form the tree skirt for the tree that is made to be folded up and put inside the card. The sentiment is from the hostess level 2 Peaceful Season (item # 121124). I love the little rhinestones all over the tree and when you put the little tea light under the tree it glows....too cute!!!

Getting Ready For Christmas

Two Cute Cards

These are a couple of cards that my friend and fellow demonstrat or, Nancy Gelle, showed us how to make at our weekend get away in Lansing. The original design came from Lynn Pratt and you can check out her other designs at www.stampndesign.blogspot.com.

These cards the Cookie jar and Honey pot are made from the same template just using different pieces to decorate differently. I love the chocolate chip cookies made from one of SU circle punches and little chips are actually a heart punch cut in half...who knew. We used a little Crystal Effects to give the honey a little glisten. Each of the tops pull out for you to stamp or write your sentiment. Hope you enjoy see ing them as much I did making them.

These were some of the little gifts we received from Rhonda and her team during the weekend we attended her get away.

Notice that most were made using the Big Shot and the Top Note die. The BINGO card was one of our make n takes during the weekend, we used it on Saturday night to play Bingo for some great prizes.

This little gift card holder was made by one of the ladies I met at the weekend. Isn't it just too cute, It's a Jiffy pop popcorn maker that they turned into a snowman....the hat folds back to put in a gift card in it....could be for best buy for a movie, or movie tickets...what a great idea.

This is one of the various projects that we completed at our recent get away hosted by Rhonda Wades in Lansing. These great cards were put together using the SU Bird Punch can you believe it....a little punch here and a little snip there and viola you have a Cardinal, an Oriole, and a woodpecker.

The directions for these great cards came from Lynn Pratt and she has some awesome instructions on her blog Stampndesign.blogspot.com.

Miss Chris Kolly created a little box to keep the birdies in, we added a sentiment from the All Holidays stamp set (itme 114916) and tied it all up with 1 1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Rhonda Wade Weekend Retreat

I attended a weekend retreat put on by Rhonda Wade in Lansing wi th two of my fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, Chris Kolly and Nancy Gelle. Here they are planning our next project....

Rhonda and her a ssistant Melissa did an excell ent job i n coordinating 60 ladies including great meals, lots of games, make and takes, classes and plenty of laughter, Oh did I mention the chocolate yum!!!. Friday night they had a Halloween costume contest with lots of ladies dressing up in their favorite attire, Rhonda dressed up as a white lamb..

..I think it was a lamb LOL there were Red Hat witches, a baby, a great cow and the winner wa s a scarecrow. I will be sharing with you some of the great projects that we completed while there.

As a surprise for Nancy and I, Chris made us little gifts, to get the weekend of projects off to a great start. She used the Totally Tess stamp set to create a calendar and a new little box pattern to house 3 wonderful chocolate yummies....I had to take the picture before they were gone LOL

Inlaid Embossing

This is one of the cards that my Friday Nite Club Ladies made using the Inlaid Embossing technique. I first saw this technique demonstrated by Yapha Mason and knew I had to give it a try.

The leaves are cut using the XL Two Step Bird punch (item 117191) from Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I then ran it through the Big Shot (BS) using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (item 119976) and it really gives it an Inlaid look. The base of the card is More Mustard with a layer of Whisper White. I used the BS Movers & Shapers Curley Label die and the Curley label punch to set off the sentiment from Tenny Tiny Wishes (item 115370).

Here is a close up of the Inlaid portion of the card....You can do this technique with almost any shape such as hearts, stars or little flowers....give it a try and share your creations with me.

Trick or Treat Take 5

This little treat box has been making the rounds on the internet blogs and I knew I had to make some of these for my friends. It's a really quick and simple project to make I started with a basic mini pizza box 3 1/2" X 6 1/2" scored at 1/2", 3", 3 1/2" and 6" along the longest side and 1/2" and 3" along the short side. make your box and decorate as desired. For mine I used a Big Shot pumpkin sizzlits die (makes for a really quick project) decorated the top with designer paper and google eyes. On the inside I added the following poem that I printed on the computer...

"I started to carve a pumpkin with my carving knife and scoop. But the pumpkin got so scared, He took a little poop.

It looked so cute and funny-just like a candy treat. So I'm sharing it with you now, because you are so sweet."

I put a little pumpkin pie cardstock behind the poem to help it stand out and filled it with candy corn I found at Walgreens. I wa nted the kind that was already prepackaged in small batches. Easy peasy!!

Trick or Treat Take 4

This is my first attempt at a Flip Tag card. I saw this first done by Phyllis Strickland and decided I had to try my hand at it....and since it's close to Halloween I wanted to use that as my theme. I did use retired Designer paper but all of the stamp sets are current :o)

I used Dark & Dreary (item 121151 $14.95 for the clear set) and Batty for you (item 116576 $23.95 wood mounted)

The happy halloween on the front was stamped in black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The moon is punched out of Daffodil Delight and I cut out the raven and attached to the moon. The pull tab is out of pumpkin spice....I really like how this turned out and now that I think I understand the mechanics (LOL) you might just see a few more of these in the months to come.

This is the card opened up so you can see the hidden panels.

Trick or Treat Take 3

This is a card inspired by my friend and Upline Chris Kolly that we did at my Stampin' Club last month. This card is on a basic black base using pumpkin pie front embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (117335). These embossing folders are one of the best things going...they add interest and texture instantly to any card or project. There are several to choose from check them all out in the 2010 idea book and catalog.

The "happy halloween" comes from the House of Haunts in the main catalog item number 111574. Isn't the ghost just too cute, well that is actually an owl turned upside down using the Two Step Owl punch....using the large Bitty Bat punch makes putting these cards together a snap.

Halloween Take 2

This is a card my friend and Upline Chris Kolly created for the Halloween season. She used Pumpkin pie card stock for the base and Whisper white cardstock using the spider web textured impressions embossing folder covered in glitter (love it) To create the little witch the new Two Step Owl punch (118074) was used the bats are also a new punch this year called the Bitty Bat (119279). The ribbon is one of the in colors for 2010 called pear pizzazz and the sentiment comes from the House of Haunts stamp set (111574)

Up Coming Stamp-A-Stack

I know, I know it's not even Thanksgiving or even Halloween for that matter and I'm already getting things ready for the Christmas Holiday with a Stamp-A-Stack. But we all know how it creeps up on us and bam it's the first of December and the cards need to go out and then the rush is on to get everything done.....SOOOOO let's get started a little early and reduce the stress that we all know is coming.

Halloween Trick or Treat

Are you ready for the Halloween Trick or Treaters? I will be showcasing several spooky projects that will be just perfect for gift giving. The original design for this came from Erica Cerwin that I saw while blog surfing and thought it was just too darn cute.

For this project I used basic black card stock for the base of this little pocket sanitizer, as well as for the 1/4 grosgrain ribbon. The top is real red card stock embossed using the Spider Web textured impressions folder (120889) and then covered in dazzling diamonds glitter (102023). I love glitter on just about everything LOL!! I cut out the little spider from the Dark & Dreary stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog as the final spooky touch.

Here is the inside of this little project

The inside has the Happy Halloween stamp from the Dark & Dreary set (120837) This is a great set to use for your Halloween projects. The hand sanitizers came from bath and body works in various "flavors" ...This will also make for a cute Thanksgiving or Christmas gift, just change out the colors and the stamp sets and viola it changes for the season's.

Paper Roses

As most of you know I love roses so today I watched a video on how to make paper roses on YouTube by Vickypg r and thought I just had to try them out. So thi s is the card that I came up with. I'm sure it's a skill that takes some time to develop but I liked how they tu rned out....I will keep pra cticing though.

I used all Stampin' Up! products including Crumb Cake for the base, Pink Pirouette as the layer and Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper sponged with Crumb cake classic ink to give it a distressed look. I used the 2 3/8 inch scalloped punch and (ops) retired Kraft 3/8 taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

The roses were made from the 1 3/4 circle punche, cut in a spiral and then wrapped around a paint brush handle. I took a picture to let you see how it progressed.

Surprise Gift

We had our demo get together last week and I came beari ng little gifts every girl would love. I found this on Lorri H eiling's website and thought it would be the perfect thing to case for my girlfriends.

I found the round note pads at the Dol lar Tree store an d the lipstick pens on the internet that were perfect for this project. (Don't you just love how you can find anything on the Internet LOL)

I used our Stampin' Up! colors to match th e lipstick cases, they come in assorted col ors, as well as black and silver card stock for the compact case.

Summer Memories

Can't believe summer is winding down with Fall coming and School starting right around the corner. I have enjoyed taking the month of August off from classes but eager to get back to seeing my stamping friends again.

We had a lot going o n this month as my son Brandon got married to his long time love Sarah. The wedding was held in a vineyard and turned out absolutely wonderful....Sarah looked beautiful and Brandon was so handsome...We are very proud of both of them as they are great kids.

In addition, we did lots of camping this month at various campgrounds here in Michigan. If you ever get the chance check out Aloha State Park near Cheboygan. It is located on Mullett Lake and just a wonderful campground for families. Clo se to Mackinaw City and other attractions that make Michigan a great place to visit. LOL I sound like a commercial. But we were really impressed with this place. By the way, the camp store has the best donuts around yum!!

I will begin having classes again in September and have some great things planned for you all, as well as holida y stamp-a-stacks and projects. This is just a little sample of a project created with the new owl punch...isn't it just too darn cute. These are little note pad holders that you can put on a keyring if you would like. Great little thank you or thinking of you items for friends/family.

This time of year I get so very excited when I get to see the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. Actually I got to see it a little early and there are some beautiful papers that I can't wait to get as well as some new stamp sets that are on my wish list. Card Tote Organizers

Today I had a three friends over to put together these cu te little Card Tote Organizers. I wanted to share the finished products with you...They do take some time to get organized but once the prep work is out of the way we spent about 3 1/2 hours putting them together...Oh we did stop to snack and eat this great oriental chicken salad that Bev brought over for us...yum!!!

We used all stampin' Up! products to create these great li ttle totes and they would make great gifts. Unfortunately I'm not sure who came up with the original creation but they sure were fu n to make.

Retiring Colors Going Fast

Stampin' Up! has just notified its demonstrators that they are unable to guarantee that all cardstock orders placed in May for retiring colors will be filled.

What does that mean to you? It means that if you NEED cardstock in retiring colors, you need to order it as soon as possible! There are already several cardstock colors that are on backorder and may not be filled OR they could be filled with textured cardstock in the retiring color you ordered.

There has been a tremendous response to the announcement that several Stampin' Up! colors would be retiring. Although, Stampin' Up! felt it would be able to keep filling orders for cardstock in retiring colors through the month of May and then put them on a "while supplies" status in June, they are not able to do so.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes to anyone, but I will do my best to help you get your orders in quickly and will keep my fingers crossed your cardstock orders will be filled. I strongly suggest that if you are ordering cardstock in retiring colors that you place your order online HERE. And remember you can order 24/7 online!

Please order retiring colors of cardstock as soon as possible so you are not disappointed!

Extra Large Two-step Bird Punch

The Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (item # 117191) is so very versatile it can be used to make birds on a branch to be sure but it can also be used to make wonderful flower petals, tulips and you can also use the negative punch as a template to sponge on paint to give a different look to your cards....It's also one of the new style of punches being made for Stampin' Up! so that you can store them so much easier a great idea for those of us with too many tools and not enough space...

More Roses for Mom

OK, so I just can't get enough of making these paper roses using the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch currently in the Occasions Mini Catalog (item # 118073)....pink roses, purple roses, yellow roses even roses in pumpkin pie... I just love them. I found these cute little frames at one of the Big Box stores in their clearance center and thought it would be a great backdrop for the roses....I love how it turned out and hope you will too. I'm going to put a picture of my mom in this one but it would be a great thing to make for Mom or Grandma with the grandkids pictures.....

We are going to be making this at our next stampin club ... Not in one of my clubs??? Give me a call to start your own group of stampin ladies or join us once a month in my current group.

Stampin' Up! Lattice Die Card

Hello Again,
I have been using my Big Shot a great deal lately, I recently used it to punch out an accent for a card from a pop can, look for that post coming up...it's easy to use and not only can you use the dies to punch out accents, boxes and letters but you can use embossing folders to add special dimension to your cards or scrapbook pages. The Big Shot can cut through over 50 different materials including material for those of you that like quilting...

This particular card uses the Lattice die (item # 115958) and the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (item # 117191) from the current Occasions Mini Catalog...It was a card I received from our Demo Group meeting in March from Chris Kolly. Check out her blog here!

My dear friend and SU Upline Chris Kolly showed me this card at our monthly demonstrator get together and I just thought it was too stinkin cute....what's Spring in Michigan without the Tulips??? You can check out Chris's blog here.

We will be making this card at my up coming Card Club in April...it uses the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (item # 117191) to create these darling tulips...I'm telling you there are so many cute things you can do with this punch. I think it's quickly becoming my very favorite in the long line of great punches that we sell. I hope you enjoy it as well..

Wonderful Roses

I love roses, as you can tell from my blog name, I think this started from when Dad used to grow the most beautiful roses when I was a kid. When I saw this card on Gretchen Barrons blog I knew I had to try it out. You can check out her blog Here.

This card used the Bride Specialty Paper (item #115669) as the background and Regal rose 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon (item # 109056) as an accent. These wonderful roses were made using the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch (item # 118073) in the occasions mini catalog. These roses would make a great card accent for a wedding card or gift bag or a wonderful card for your mom or sweetheart.....look for more of these to pop on my blog as I can't wait to make more samples using them. Cute Easter Treat

With Easter being right around the corner I was looking for a quick treat holder that I could make for my Grandson, Niece and Nephews and found a great idea from Connie Babbert a fellow SU Demonstrator.

I did change it up a bit to allow me to use the items I have on hand but I think it turned out really cute. Although I'm sure the kids will like the inside more than the treat holder itself LOL - These went together really quickly and would make a cute treat holder for anyone not just the kids. I mean who doesn't love chocolate !!!

Gift for A Friend

My Upline and Friend Chris Kolly and I made these vinyl tote bags last week and I had to share it with you. I used retired Stampin' Up! designer paper called Georgia Peach (love it), jumbo eyelets and Stampin' Up! 5/8 Grosgrain ribbon in Regal Rose and Old Olive Satin Ribbon to complete this tote for my friend Nancy Crosby.

The color combination's are endless, you could make these for Teens using the Cast-A-Spell designer papers and the Just Jawing set or for a new mom by choosing different colors....I have an aunt that loves going to bingo....I might make her one using the Jackpot designer papers to carry her bingo supplies. It does take a while to put it all together and get all of the eyelets lined up but I sure do like the look of the finished product - Hope you do too.

My first Rag Purse

This is my first attempt at one of the Rag Purses that are so very popular right now. I used the Big shot to cut out the 5 inch squares using the Stampin' Up! Bigz Scallop Square Die item # 115950. These are pretty simple to make using only a straight stitch on my sewing machine (ok so I'm not Martha) but I can do a straight stitch LOL. Valentine's Day Train

Isn't this just the cutest thing - a fellow demonstrator Gretchen Barron designed this little valentine train using Stampin' Up! products. She is selling this as a kit you can see it here

It uses the Box #2 Bigz Big Shot die item # 114518; the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die item # 117310; Sending Love Specialty Designer series paper item # 117153 as well as our brads on the wheels. While this one was designed especially for valentine's day you could easily create one for Easter, Christmas or even Halloween by changing the designer paper that you use.

Big Shot Flowers

I have been seeing these fabric flowers all over the various blogs that I go to and thought they were just toooooooo darn cute. So I had to try my hand at making a couple. In fact I attended a Stampin event held by Rhonda Wade last weekend and used these flowers as my swap. They are pretty easy to make and actually the hardest part is picking out your favorite fabrics to use.

I used the Stampin' Up! Flower Folds ie item # 115970 and Rhinestone Brads item # 109110. I got the original instructions from Dawn Griffith's blog site.

Well I have been gone for a while from posting, seems like a very long time...My mom as many of you know was ill during November and December and I had been busy taking care of things for her. She passed away Christmas Eve and now is in a better place for sure....I'm slowly getting back into the swing of stampin and realize how much I missed the creative outlet and sharing of ideas with my friends and stampin buddies!!! So be on the lookout for some great new classes and projects for 2010.
